"Appointment with Love" by S.I. Kishor
(Priceless happiness, Quotation 2 reflection)
"Then Lieutenant Blandford's heart leaped higher than his plane had ever done. A young woman was coming toward him. Her figure was long and slim; her blond hair lay back in curls from her delicate ears. Her eyes were blue as flowers, her lips and chin had a gentle firmness. In her pale green suit, she was like springtime come alive."
...Lieutenant Blandford has kept in touch with this woman who he hasn't even met in person for 13 months and counting. This is someone who has helped him through rough times being a Lieutenant across sea and someone who has brought him genuine happiness. When Lieutenant Blandford saw this beautiful young woman, happiness filled through him since he had a physical connection to someone he un-knowlingly already had an emotional connection to. This pair of connections brought him happiness which is similar to Sdepa in my flash fiction who found his happiness in the connections he had with his friends and family's love expressed towards him. You truly see the connection between the woman and Blandford when the author writes, "Then Lieutenant Blandford's heart leaped higher than his plane had ever done." From this short sentence, you can see that Blandford's emotions have been related to the flight of his plane. His flight of life has gotten higher and more exciting. This excitement/"flight" doesn't have a price tag which makes it so grand.
